Jon Payne |
Senior Pastor
As the senior pastor of Redemption Hill Church, Jon oversees the theological vision and Sunday preaching of the church and provides leadership to the pastoral team and staff.
Additionally, Jon serves on the Leadership Team of Sovereign Grace Churches as the director of church development. In this role, he is responsible for providing resources and care for Sovereign Grace’s regional leaders and developing resources to serve and support Sovereign Grace pastors.
Jon has been in pastoral ministry since 2005, having served on staff in Gilbert, Arizona before planting Redemption Hill Church in 2013.
He and his wife, Lory, live in Round Rock with their four children who give them endless new moments of gratefulness and laughter.

Bruce Chick |
Pastor
Some of Bruce’s responsibilities include the oversight of community groups, Sunday morning ministry teams, men’s ministry events and the development of discipling and continuing education curriculum for the church.
Bruce has belonged to different SG Churches in FL, VA, and now TX. Before coming to Redemption Hill, Bruce was the senior pastor in Roanoke, VA for 23 years. Bruce has additionally served Sovereign Grace Churches extra locally in a variety of capacities including chairing a regional ordination committee, teaching Old Testament at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College, and being an active member of both the SG Polity Committee and Executive Committee since 2013.
Bruce would say that belonging to this family of churches over the past 26 years has had a life-changing impact both on his life and his family’s lives in a way that can never be humanly measured or repaid. The one word that comes to Bruce’s mind when he thinks of God, and of the denomination God has placed Bruce in is “grateful.”
Bruce is blessed to have known his lovely wife, Hien, since they were both 16. They are the parents of 7 wonderful children and two sons-in-law. Although it might seem a little strange to love hot weather and look forward to training and competing in just about any available sporting activity while on vacation, it just goes with the territory of being a Chick.

Pastoral Resident
Jason began a church planting residency at Redemption Hill Church in 2024. He is a trained biblical counselor and has been involved in ministry for the past 30 years, including planting and pastoring a church in the North Texas area.
Jason and Mary were married in 1993 and have been blessed with six children and two grandchildren. When not spending time with family, they enjoy taking care of their cattle ranch in central Texas.

Reese Prater |
Ministry Intern
Reese serves as a Ministry Intern at Redemption Hill Church. He helps coordinate the Sunday Morning Worship and oversees our G2 and Advance ministries. Reese completed his undergrad in Organizational Leadership at Texas A&M Commerce in 2023.
He and his wife, Abi, can usually be found trying out new coffee shops around Georgetown.
