Have you considered that God is more trustworthy than a table? Our culture claims that the most certain, undeniable truths in the universe are those we can feel and touch. In other words, a table is much more “true”, more trustworthy, more solid, than God. But the reality is the reverse. A table is made up of atoms, with electrons staying in circuit around their core. Why do they do that? Physical forces, of course. But why are those physical forces consistent? Why do they act the way the do? Why don’t they simply fly apart, or act like liquid, or suddenly develop a steam-like quality? Of course, we’ve observed solids to act that way for as long as humans have been on earth, and we’ve measured those properties for thousands of years. In recent centuries we can even define the forces that are in play. But the best, most “solid” answer we can come up with is that things will surely continue the way they always have.
The Bible has a better answer. Behind ever “solid”, is something more solid. Behind every “consistent force” is something that makes it consistent.
Behind every electron is a hand.
