Preaching comes from praying.

Any man can stand in front of an audience and share opinions, but only God can illuminate His Word.
Any Christian can hear an inspiring talk, but only the Holy Spirit can open a heart to understand the gospel.
Any group of people can pick a time and place to gather and talk together, but a church gathers expecting supernatural annointing as a called man proclaims the truth of God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Charles Spurgeon said that the secret to his ministry was that His people prayed for him. The future health of the ministry of God’s Word in a particular church may be measured by the dedication of the people and the pastor to pray over the Word, crying out to God to illuminate it, to apply it to the renewal of their hearts, to attend if with staying power.

So, let us pray for the preaching of God’s Word, for the ministry of God’s Word in public and private, for the evidence that His Word is His supernatural instrument to change His World.
